If you would like to find out more about bees or are thinking of beekeeping as a new hobby but not sure what it involves then a Bee Taster session might be just right for you. It might also be something you give as a gift. It costs £30 for a 2 hour session in our apiary with an experienced beekeeper. We will provide you with a suit and gloves – you provide the boots!.
Starting any new hobby can be quite daunting and we will give you some good practical advice including the potential costs involved depending on how big you want to go! During the session you will open a hive and inspect the colony and get a chance to look at other different types of hive you might consider. We also run beginner’s courses to improve your knowledge, and once you join the Association, you can join in inspections in the apiary to hone your skills, get equipment loans and we will help source local bees for your hives.
